about
A huge thanks to Elliot Kempton, who made my dream come true and helped arrange and play strings for this song. Ever since I started playing in bands in my teens, I've always wanted to write and record strings for a song.
I wrote 'No Flowers Will Come' nearly five years ago and at the time I was fiercely determined to make sure that the arrangement would be kept as simple and vulnerable as possible. Enjoy!
lyrics
If I start into flames
I better walkout
then cause you pain
I've made up my mind
my heels dug in
If I blow up, I'll make lines for you
So hard, to recognize you
Don't look at me
with those old views
Racing thoughts, tripping downstairs
I promise I'll speak up
you will hear
All of this time, I thought you were mine
No flowers will come
All that is good is distant and gone
No flowers will come
All that's gold has faded away
No Flowers will come
All of this time, I thought you were mine
No flowers will come
Do you know what is on my mind?
I thought I had
fallen into flames
I try to read between the lines
The pleasure is ruined
no blood will let in
evading turned treasure, our hands are blind
All of our dreams
are slipping away
sedated reflections, no words shall pass
All of my thoughts have suffered
with time
Does this still look like you had in mind?
All of this time, I thought you were mine
No flowers will come
All that is good is distant and gone
No flowers will come
All that's gold has faded away
No Flowers will come
All of this time, I thought you were mine
No flowers will come
